Titratest
Reasol, a firm specializing in the manufacture and sale of professional tests and kits for water analysis for more than four decades, offers Titratests, a product designed specifically for titration and purity measurement of industrial, civil and domestic water.
Titration is a common volumetric analysis in analytical chemistry that requires particular precision and specific reagents to guarantee reliable results. It allows the exact determination of the unknown content of a specific analyte in water such as, for example, hardness, calcium, chlorides, oxygen and other analytes.
The TITRATEST HYDROCHECK kit contains everything needed to carry out simplified titration and concentration determination even outside of laboratories, making it a very suitable product for analysis in the field or in other settings. The equipment included in the kit contains a test tube, a 5-mL syringe for sampling, a titrant, an indicator or other reagents (depending on the type of selected analysis), and the functional 74-notched titration syringe. Practical, convenient to carry and efficient, the kit can also be used with other equipment to adapt the analysis to your needs.
Do not hesitate, for more information regarding our ready-to-use HYDROCHECK kits please contact us via the form or by phone: Reasol is located in Milan, but we operate throughout Italy and abroad.

The advantages of titrations
Depending on the type of analysis you need to perform, the kit contains different reagents: for example, for Calcium and Hardness titrations we rely on the formation of complexes of Calcium and Magnesium with a complexometric solution of known titer.
For Calcium, different indicators can be used, such as Murexide (red-orange to violet veining), or others with more definite veining, for example yellow to violet, while for Hardness one uses the Eriochrome Black T indicator, that shifts from red to pure blue or mixed indicators with red to green veining.
Chloride titration is carried out with a defined titer solution of Mercuric and the Carbazone indicator that changes from yellow to violet.
Oxygen titration is carried out, according to Winkler’s method, with the Starch indicator shifting from blue to colorless, while Sulfites titration is carried out with a defined titer solution of potassium iodide-iodate, with changing from colorless to blue.
Titrants, auxiliary indicators and reagents are available in replacement packages to further reduce analysis costs.
The Swiss-made STEPPER 411 manual titrator is available upon request: this pistol-type device can draw in and dispense titrant to give accurate data by pulling on the trigger, which involves the advance of a notch of the piston. This procedure virtually voids the risks of making errors or issues in reading the results.
There are several benefits in using TITRATEST, such as the portability of the equipment, the reduction of substances to be disposed at the end of the test and reduced cost compared to traditional methodologies.
