Observations

- HYDROCHECK MONOTEST kits (which can be purchased directly) require the use of a photometer. Despite having a higher cost per analysis than that offered by SPECTRATESTs, MONOTESTs are finding increasingly widespread use because of their high accuracy, reliability and safety of use.
In addition, with the MONOTESTs, analysis is simpler because the samples to be analyzed are introduced into optical glass tubes containing the predosed reagents that can be used directly in any photometer capable of accepting 16-mm diameter round tubes, such as Hydrocheck or Spectronic Genesys spectrophotometers.
SPECTRATEST kits, which offer a significantly lower cost per analysis, are recommended when it is necessary to perform many analyses, to be repeated frequently.
As for the photometer, it is preferable to use a spectrophotometer such as the Hydrocheck or Spectronic Genesys, since filter photometers give less reliable and accurate results, as well as always requiring the construction of a calibration curve.
