Ipt Boiler Water Hardness
Code | 1027 |
Analysis Type | Hardness |
Analysis Method | Titration of hardness with inhibition of certain interferences. |
Sensitivity | 0,5 french degrees (on 10 ml) |
Number of Determinations | 5 french degrees |
Analysis Description | - volumetric |
Ideal for Water | Purified, potable and thermal circuits |
Kit Contents | • 1 bottle 25ml titrant hardness |
Observations | In the case of proper conditioning of a thermal circuit, which includes the systematic control of hardness in the steam generator feed water, and the maintenance of a hardness buffer (e.g. phosphate) in the boiler water, it is not necessary to determine the hardness in the steam generator water. Additionally, substances present in the boiler water can disturb this analysis by inhibiting the coloring of the hardness indicator and therefore simulating the presence of hardness, which in reality is not present. If you still wish to mesure hardness in boiler water, it is advisable to add hardness reagent A, which, in most cases, can eliminate this interference. Hardness reagent A should not be used for water with very low conductivity or a pH value below 9. |
