HCK Spectratest Iron Low

HCK Spectratest Iron Low

Code 6213
Analysis Type Iron
Analysis Method

Measurement of the color intensity of the violet complex formed by the reaction of the iron, previously reduced, with Triazine.

Sensitivity

0,05 – 2 ppm Fe

Number of Available Analyses

200

Analysis Description

Determination of bivalent and trivalent iron dissolved in water. This is the determination of total iron dissolved in water, meaning that non-dissolved iron, present for example in the form of rust flakes, is not determined unless it has first been dissolved by boiling with acid.

Ideal for Water

Purified, waste, potable and thermal circuits

Kit Contents

- 2 bottles of 30 ml of reagent A
- 2 bottles of 30 ml reagent B
- 2 plastic test tubes of 20 ml with stopper
- 2 test tubes of 16 mm optical glass with stopper
- 1 syringe of 5 ml

Observations

- This classic method is widely used in all cases where a particularly high sensitivity is not required, for which the iron low method is recommended.
- HYDROCHECK SPECTRATEST kits (which can be purchased directly) require the use of a photometer, such as the HC6000, and allow a large number of precise analyses to be carried out at a very low cost.
HYDROCHECK MONOTEST kits are preferred for their convenience and safety of use. The cost per analysis of the MONOTEST kits is higher, but the analysis is simpler, as the samples to be analysed are placed in optical glass tubes containing the pre-dosed reagents and used directly in the appropriate photometers. MONOTEST kits are especially recommended when there are only a few analyses to be performed.
As far as the photometer is concerned, it is preferable to use a spectrophotometer such as the Hydrocheck or Spectronic Genesys, as filter photometers give less reliable and accurate results and always require the construction of a calibration curve.
