- In the range between 0 and 20 ppm Cl the colorimetric method is more practical and more sensitive than titration.
- The SPECTRATEST HYDROCHECK kits (which can be purchased directly) require the use of a photometer or spectrophotometer to perform many precise analyzes at a very low cost per analysis. HYDROCHECK MONOTEST kits are preferred because of their greater convenience and safety of use. The cost per analysis of MONOTEST kits is higher, but the analysis is very simple because the samples to be analyzed are introduced into optical glass tubes containing the pre-dosed reagents that can be used directly in the appropriate photometers. MONOTEST kits are recommended when there are few analyses to be performed. As for the photometer, it is preferable to use a spectrophotometer such as the Hydrocheck or Spectronic Genesys, since filter photometers give less reliable and precise results, as well as always requiring the construction of a calibration curve.
