Analyzers without reagents
All water purification and treatment plants, whether wastewater, natural, industrial or civil, must be provided with a system to monitor concentrations of COD, BOD, TOC, Nitrates, TSS*, Anionic Surfactants and absorbance at 254 nm, as well as to detect the presence of unwanted pollutants: these devices are specially engineered to quickly detect any contamination by pesticides, aromatic compounds, and other harmful substances, before water can drain and enter the system.
At Reasol, we offer the ultimate alternative: the analyzers without reagents produced by the Aqualabo Group are UV spectrophotometers that use spectral deconvolution to analyze water without the use of reagents: the device includes a specific algorithm that reconstructs on a statistical basis the qualitative and quantitative value of the analytes present.
Two instrument models are available: the STAC2 and PASTELUV. The first one is a fixed monitoring and control station that can be programmed and connected online to obtain data remotely, while the second one is a portable device for field analysis.

The operation of analyzers
How do spectral deconvolution spectrophotometers work and how can they obtain accurate data without the use of chemical reagents?
Spectral deconvolution is a data correlation technique based on the application of a dedicated algorithm to reconstruct, on a statistical basis, qualitative and quantitative value of the analytes present. It is based on standard or customizable models in which about thirty water samples of each type were analyzed (discharge, after chemical-physical treatment, natural, etc.), taken at different times in time to make the models more complete and reliable.
The samples are analyzed by the instrument, which stores the spectrum; they are then associated with the values of the analyses performed in an analytical laboratory. Once created, the models can then be used for all waters similar to those used to create them. The software enables the instrument to perform a correlation of the spectrum absorbed by the sample under examination with the stored model and to show the values of the analytes present in less than two minutes.
By combining the spectrum analysis of samples in the UV field with the results of laboratory analysis for the creation of models and using spectral deconvolution, these spectrophotometers can analyze water without using reagents, in as little as 2 minutes, and warn the operator about possible pollutants and express quantitative values of:
• COD;
• BOD;
• TOC;
• TSS;
• N-NO3
• Anionic Surfactants
• Absorbance at 254 nm (STAC2 or STACSense probe only)
A product customized to your specific needs
The Paster UV is a portable spectrophotometer used in the ultraviolet range, that, when adequately programmed, allows to determine COD, BOD, nitric acid, total suspended solids, total organic carbon and anionic surfactants values in raw, wastewater and sewage water without using chemical reagents and in less than two minutes.
The spectral deconvolution takes advantage of a specific comparative algorithm that reconstructs the missing elements on a statistic basis, by eliminating the interference to “build” a complete sample profile tat can accurately indicate the presence of pollutants, both qualitatively and quantitively.
Its operation is simple and intuitive: it has four function keys and is provided with a powerful battery that enables to perform up to 100 analyses per day.
The Pastel UV has a 3-year warranty and comes with the instruction manual, 5- and 10-mm cuvettes, removable cuvette housing, practical and sturdy carrying case, power cable and declaration of performance.
